Wendy qualified as a Barrister in 1991, she moved to New Zealand in 1993 and worked there as a criminal defence and prosecution advocate until 1998. Appearing in the Crown Court and Court of Appeal.
Upon her return to the UK she worked for a specialist criminal defence solicitors in London
In 2012 she relocated to Liverpool and has eventually settled in Chester joining Gray and Co in 2021.
Wendy has extensive advocacy experience in the Magistrates and Crown Court. She has prepared and defended many serious and complex cases ranging from murder to shoplifting. She is passionate about defending all clients whether they face a very serious or lesser offence.
Notable Cases
R v D – SECURITAS ROBBERY
Client charged with £53million Robbery, multi handed conspiracy to rob and conspiracy to possess firearms. The case involved mobile phone records, ANPR and one co- defendant turning Queen’s evidence. Our client was the only one to be found not guilty.
R v B – MURDER
Our client was charged with the murder of his mother and father. Despite the initial expert report recommending a guilty plea, more experienced experts were instructed. Our client was found guilty of manslaughter after a diminished responsibility trial.
R v F – MULTI-HANDED THEFT
Multi handed theft with issues of identification, cell site and anpr evidence. Client eventually pleaded to a small number of matters with the Crown withdrawing other matters.
