Work Placements

Gray & Co offers expenses only work placements to students (undergraduate level or equivalent and above) and other professionals who are considering a career as a solicitor. We offer a limited number of placements lasting between 1 and 5 weeks.

Our shorter placement offers an opportunity to shadow our solicitors and higher courts advocates, in conference with clients, at the police station and in court.

During our 5 week placements, students will be provided with a job description and will be expected to sign a confidentiality agreement. Students are likely to be asked to assist with legal research and will work closely with a solicitor on the preparation of cases, but will have no unsupervised client contact. Feedback will be provided at the end of the placement.

All applications for speculative work placements should be made between January and March for the placements to take place in the Spring/Summer of that year.

Please send a brief covering email and CV setting out your qualifications and contact details to Adam Antoszkiw. As with applications for employment, applications for work placements will be considered on an equal opportunities basis.

Please note that due to the nature of our work we will not consider applications from school children for work placements.

Gray & Co are conscious of our local academic establishments and we are pleased to announce that we are committed to offering at least one placement per year to a student of the University of Chester.

Applications for the University placement will be advertised internally each academic year. Applications for this placement will only be accepted during the recruitment period which you will be notified of by the University of Chester.
