Affray is when the offender threatens or uses unlawful violence towards another person, and their conduct causes a person of reasonable firmness who is present at the scene to fear for their own personal safety.
In cases of Affray, the offender’s behaviour must be directed at a person and not at a property, but can be take place in a private setting or a public place.
Affray a serious allegation and it is an offence that can be dealt with in the Magistrates Court or the Crown Court, depending on the circumstances, and it can result in a penalty of imprisonment.
